How I found my inspiration in the kitchen again

In my last blog, I created a list that I thought may help you save money towards Christmas. I suggested one way to save money on your budget is to cook your meals.

Cooking your meals

I’m not a cook, so sometimes I need all the inspiration I can get in the kitchen. So, I signed up for a free online cooking lesson, called Cooking Made Easy at Get Cooking by Anne Marie Lambert. (There are many other courses available).

I had a fantastic time. My old skills were reinforced, which increased my confidence in the kitchen, and I learnt new skills.

Now I am Whizzing around in the kitchen feeling inspired to cook on a budget again. Last night it was stew with dumplings in the slow cooker, cooked from scratch!

And yes, I have booked another free lesson. I cannot wait.

Christmas countdown

There are 48 weeks and 5 days until Christmas Day. If you decided to join me on my Christmas Countdown Challenge last week and save £20.00 a week, your total should be £40.00 already!

Christmas Countdown

By Christmas, you would have saved £980.00 if all goes to plan.

But let us face it, life is not always that simple, so if you cannot save every week, do not worry, start the next week again.

Grow you own – My Allotment

It’s January and when I sit in the evenings browsing the online seed catalogues and planning my allotment while having a coffee and watching the television. Perfect in a lockdown.
